    DATOptic is proud to introduce the portable SATA-HUB with unique USB bus power feature, aloowing you to add more SATAI and/or SATAII devices to your system at any place or time without needing an external ac adapter. One in Five Out ports, which automatically connects and transfers with proper bandwidth of either 3.0GB (SATA II) or 1.5GB (SATA I).

    The SATA-HUB 1-to-5 native SATA II hub/repeater is designed to provide a 3 Gb/1.5Gb (auto-negotiate) data transfer path between your computer systems SATA2 port to and from five external SATAI/SATAII devices. Each system SATA II port and our SATA-HUB, five Serial ATA 1 and 2 can provide simultaneous data transfer rates at 3.0Gb bandwidth.

    This performance is important to the user who frequently needs to access data files on an external drive, or who would do extensive back-ups on a regular basis. As anexample, transferring a 2 GB video file would take about 35 seconds over a Serial ATA connection at these rates, while more than one minute would be needed for a standard USB or 1394.

    Our SATA-HUB is designed using the Silicon Image 3726 chipset, and has unique data aggregation and 3Gbps serial link capacity. It supports five SATA I or SATA II devices with auto-negotiation features over a single eSATA connector automatically. It is able to take full advantage of 3Gbps host link bandwidth and FIS-based switching host controllers by combining together data from all devices and sending it over the 3Gbps host link. This overcomes the sequential data transfer technique, which easily degrades the performance if there are multiple devices operating at the same time.

    To use SATA-HUB all you need is an available USB port to provide power to the SATA-HUB. With its hot-plug and hot-swap features, it is an ideal upgrade solution to support all the external SATA and SATA II devices for the expanding availability of SATA interface peripherals.
